December 12th 2009 will be the day that Lions across District 29-O will ring the bells for the Salvation Army and let the public see the many things that Lions do for our communities. District Governor Eddie Queen and Vic Carrol of the Salvation Army have agreed to a plan that provides Lions manpower to the Salvation Army's Bell Ringing Fund Raiser and provides an opportunity for Lions to interact with members of their communities. The standard Salvation Army kettles and bells will be used, but the signage and handouts will be Lions oriented.

This year, due to prior arrangements by the Salvation Army, we will be providing help only at select sites. The ultimate goal is to have one day when the Lions will "Ring the Bells" at all Salvation Army locations in West Virginia. We must make this years effort a success for both the Lions and the Salvation Army, if we are to reach our ultimate goal. All Lions Clubs should be talking with their Zone Chairpersons to see how and where they can be involved.
