District Governor
Herbert W. Richardson

Hello fellow Lions Club members, my name is Herbert W. Richardson II, but that’s too much so Lion Herb will always get my attention. I look forward to being your District Governor in the coming year.

I have been a member of the South Charleston Lions Club for fourteen years with perfect attendance, but only working my way up these past few years, Vice President, President and Zone Chairman, and have worked on many club activities.

I have actively participated in many other organizations or programs such as; President of the West Virginia State Police Fraternal Order of Police, President of the Retired Members Association of the West Virginia State Police which leads to my almost 28 years membership as a West Virginia State policeman, retiring at the rank of First Lt.; Board of Directors WV Credit Union since 1984; Home Owners Association Land of Canaan Valley Resort; Municipal Court Judge in three locations.

I have four children, ten grand children and six great grand children. All of whom I am very proud of from the oldest whom is a Lt. Col in the Special Forces, working for the Department of Defense, to the six month old working on her second bottle of the day.

In keeping with Past District Governor Pinkerman’s program of obtaining new members, my club, this this past year, has taken in nine new members and is working on a few more. Don’t be afraid to talk about Lions and don’t be afraid to ask people to join. Some have just never been asked. Men and woman alike, as we find that new members bring new active blood into the club and its activities. So just because you’re a member, there may be others who would enjoy what you and your club have to offer them.

Take care and we will talk again later.
